The embroidery
A centred motif is harder to place than an all-over pattern — it has to sit true, because any drift from centre is obvious once the cover is on a cushion. The petals are built in layers of silk with the metallic thread reserved for the stems and highlights, which keeps the gold from overwhelming the pink.
Living with it
Warmer and less formal than the Chantilly, and better in a bedroom than a drawing room. Sits well against cream, oatmeal and pale grey; keep it away from strong reds, which make the rose look muddy.
Care
Dry clean only. Do not machine wash. Never iron over the embroidery; press from the reverse on a low setting. Store flat rather than folded across the bouquet.
