How it's made

Threads are bound and dyed in stages before weaving begins, then aligned by hand on the loom so the medallion emerges as the cloth grows. The soft-edged blur where one colour meets the next is not a printing effect — it is what happens when a pattern is built from pre-dyed yarn.

Every piece is different. Pattern placement and colour depth vary from cover to cover because each is cut from handwoven cloth. Yours will not be an exact copy of the one photographed. If you are matching something you already own, email us before ordering.

Living with it

The muted palette makes this the easiest of the ikats to place. It works on cream, sand or grey upholstery, and the black in the pattern gives it enough weight not to disappear against a pale sofa.

Care

Dry clean only. Do not machine wash, wring or tumble dry. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight. A light steam from a distance will lift a flattened pile.
