The embroidery
Pale thread on a pale ground gives the embroiderer nowhere to hide — there is no colour contrast to disguise an uneven stitch, so the work has to be clean. What you get in return is a pattern made entirely of shadow and sheen, which changes completely between morning and evening light.
Living with it
Made for white bedding, pale wood and Scandinavian or coastal rooms. On a dark sofa the pattern vanishes and you are left with a plain blue cushion, so keep it in the light.
Care
Dry clean only. Do not machine wash. Press from the reverse on a low setting, never over the stitching. Pale linen marks easily — keep it away from newsprint and denim transfer.
