How it's made

The colours are dyed into bound sections of yarn before weaving, then the threads are aligned on the loom by hand. Perfect registration is impossible, and the resulting soft feathering along every colour edge is the mark of genuine ikat. The silk velvet pile then adds its own shift — the mustard looks bronze from one angle and gold from another.

Every piece is different. Each cover is cut from a length of handwoven cloth, so the motif sits differently on every one, and colour depth varies between dye lots. Yours will not be identical to the one photographed. Email us before ordering if you need a close match to something you already have.

Living with it

Warm enough to lift a dark sofa and busy enough to stand alone. Good against teal, forest green, tan leather and mid-brown wood; harder work in a cool grey room.

Care

Dry clean only. Do not machine wash, wring or tumble dry. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight. A light steam held at a distance revives a flattened pile.
