The embroidery
Orange is the hardest of these shades to get right in silk — too red and it turns brick, too yellow and it goes ochre. Worked by hand across the fanned tail feathers, the thread's sheen keeps the colour lively rather than flat, and the density of stitching gives the birds real relief against the linen.
Living with it
Strong against ivory, sand, natural rattan and warm wood. Pairs well with terracotta walls and badly with cool blue-greys, where the orange starts to fight. The ocean-mint version is the same design in a quieter register.
Care
Dry clean only. Do not machine wash. Press from the reverse on a low setting, never over the stitching. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight — strong orange dyes are among the first to fade.
